HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1986-503CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 18th day of August • 19gL.k The following members were present: Mayor Schneider. Councilmembers Crain, Sis,, Vasiliou, and Zitur The following members were absent: none Councilmember Sisk introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 86- 503 AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH WEST HENNEPIN HUMAN SERVICES TO ADMINISTER THE SUBURBAN "HOUSE DOCTOR" PROGRAM IN THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH WHEREAS, Minnegasco is a natural gas distribution company which is authorized by Minnesota law to implement residential conservation programs which serve low income homeowners; and, WHEREAS, Minnegasco has designed a conservation improvement program which has been approved by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission, which includes a "House Doctor Program" which can be delivered in conjunction with local units of government; and, WHEREAS, Minnegasco desires to implement a House Doctor Program in conjunction with the West Hennepin Human Services; and, WHEREAS, the administration of the program by West Hennepin Human Services would ensure community participation by providing education, consultation and technical assistance on issues pertaining to the human services delivery system; providing linkages between governmental units, consumers and providers; increasing awareness of available human service resources; identifying and advocating for needed services; and to improve the existing service system; assistinq others in the development of human services programs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth that the City of Plymouth participate in the House Doctor Program through the establishment of a Governor's Community Energy Council; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth that the City of Plymouth enter into a contract with West Hennepin Human Services to administer the House Doctor Program in Plymouth. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Zitur , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Schneider. Councilmembgrs Crain_ Sisk, Vasiliou, and Zitur The following voted against or abstained: none Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
