Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the day of June . 1986.
The following members were present: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers rain, ast lou,
and Zitur The
following members were absent: Councilmember is
Councilmember Crain introduced the following Resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION No. 86- 351
ENDORSING PETITION BY MICHAEL A. FREUND AND HARVEY J. FREUND, II TO THE HENNEPIN
COUNTY BOARD FOR ALTERATION OF DISTRICT BOUNDARY BETWEEN SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 281 AND
SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 284 IN THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH (85108)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plymouth has approved a Final Plat for a
residential development known as "Westwood Ridge" for Michael A. Freund and Harvey
J. Freund, II; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 122.21 of the Minnesota State Statutes, Michael A.
Freund and Harvey J. Freund, II have submitted a petition to the Hennepin county
Auditor for submittal to the Hennepin County Board requesting that the boundary be
adjusted so that the boundary does not divide those children residing on the same
cul-de-sac between districts; and,
WHEREAS, the respective Independent School Districts have endorsed the request by
Michael A. Freund and Harvey J. Freund, II, to adjust the location of the school dis-
trict boundary as described in the petition to the Hennepin County Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the petition by Michael A. Freund
and Harvey J. Freund, II to the Hennepin County Board for an adjustment of the Dis-
trict boundary between Independent School District No. 281 and Independent School
District No. 284 which would assure that the cul-de-sac would not be bisected by the
School District boundary;
FURTHER, this petition is supported by the City Council of the City of Plymouth to
assure the development of a cohesive residential neighborhood wherein children may
attend schools within th- same District; and,
FURTHER, the City Council encourages expeditious consideration and approval of the
petition in consideration of proposed construction of dwellings for occupancy in
1986.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Zitur , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: ayor bcnnelaer, Councilmembers Crain, Vasiliou, and
Zitur The following
voted against or abstained: none Whereupon the
Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
