The following members were present: Mayor Schne end r, Councilmem ers rain, — Sisk, Vasiliou and Zitur The following members were absent: none rw• tws *** Councilmember Crain introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION 86- 308 APPROVING THE APPEAL BY THE PLYMOUTH CIVIC LEAGUE ON THE BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS RULING WHEREAS, The Plymouth Civic League, pursuant to Section 11, Subdivision C., of the Plymouth Zoning Ordinance, has appealed the May 13, 1986 ruling of the Board of Zoning Adjustments and Appeals, relative to the request for a variance from the Sign Ordinance in order to construct and erect three temporary advertising signs exceeding 32 sq. ft. in area; and, WHEREAS, the petitioner has requested a 40 sq. ft. enlargement of the Ordinance allowed 32 sq. ft. temporary sign requirements in order to place a temporary sign of 72 sq. ft. at 4445 Nathan Lane; a 28 sq. ft. enlargement of the Ordinance allowed 32 sq. ft. temporary sign requirement in order to place a temporary sign of 60 sq. ft. at 17340 'County Road 6; and, a 268 ft. enlargement of the Ordinance allowed 32 sq. ft. temporary sign requirement in order to place a temporary sign of 300 sq. ft. at 3005 Plymouth Blvd; and, WHEREAS, the Board of Zoning Adjustments and Appeals considered the matter on May 13, 1986 and the ruling was made to deny the Variance request as submitted; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the proceedings of the Board of Zoning Adjust- ments and Appeals, as well as the petitioner's application for the Variance and for the appeal; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MIN- NESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the appeal by the Plymouth Civic League from the Board of Zoning Adjustments and Appeals ruling subject to the following: 1. The Variance is approved based upon the findings that the petitioner has satisfied the Ordinance standards for granting Variances. 2. The Variance is granted to allow the signs as described in the staff report dated May 2, 1986. 3. No other variances are granted or implied by this action. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Zitur *and upon vote being taken thereon, the followingne voted in favor thereof: _ Mayor Schider.
