HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1986-244CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 28th day of AD. -!I , 1986. The following members were present: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Crain. Sisk. Vasiliou and Zitur The tollowing members were absent: none �r11nk �ArA* ff# Councilmember Crain introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 86-244 BASSETT CREEK WATER MANAGEMENT COMMISSION FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT 86-1 WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth was one of the original founders and has been a member of the Bassett Creek Water Management Commission since 1969; and WHEREAS, said Commission has been seeking Federal Funding for a flood control project since 1973 and were successful in receiving congressional approval of the project in 1976; and WHEREAS, the Army Corps of Engineers has been funded for the construction project within the F.Y. 1985, Supplemental Appropriations Act of the United States Congress; and WHEREAS, the Commission is holding a public hearing on the proposed improvements on May 22, 1986 to consider undertaking of said flood control project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, as follows: 1. That the City Council supports and endorses the proposed flood control project. 2. That the City Council will provide the funds which are the responsibility of the City of Plymouth in accordance with the Joint Powers Agreement. 3. That Plymouth's representative to the Commission is to present this resolution at the public hearing The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by _Councilmember Zitur , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mavor Schneider, Councilmembers Crain. Sisk. Vasiliou and Zitur The following voted against or abstained: none Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
