HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1986-064CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Special meeting of Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 27th of January , 1986. The following members were present: The following members were absent: none the City day Councilmember Crain introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 86- 64 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RECYCLING PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Waste Management act of 1980 through the Metropolitan Council and Hennepin County requires the City to recycle 16% of the total solid waste now being disposed of in landfills; and WHEREAS, if the City does not meet the quota by January 1, 1988, then Hennepin County will take over the program by July 1, 1988 and will impose mandatory recycling guidelines upon the City; and WHEREAS, the City is desirous of attempting to meet the objectives through a voluntary program run by the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That it should and hereby does approve the City wide Recycling program as outlined in the January 23, 1986 memo. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Vasiliou , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Crain, . Sisk and Vasiliou The following voted against or abstained: none Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
