HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1986-024CITY Of PLYMOUTH INANCE NO. 86-24_ AN ORDINANCE RELATING; TO THE REGULATION OF COND CT WHICH HARASSES, ABUSES. OR INTIMIDATES PERSONS WITHIN THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, AMEND- ING PLYMOUTH CITY COOS, CHAPTER XX, BY ADDING A NEW SUBSECTION AND REPEALING AN EXISTING SUBSECTION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Plymouth City Code, Chapter XX, Section 2000 is hereby amended by adding a new subsection to read: 2000.08. Harassment. It is a misdemeanor to engage, aid, abet or conspire in any of the following*conducts a. to make a telephone call which is received by a person or persons within the City, whether or not conversation ensues, with the intent to harass, abuse, or intimidate the recipient of the call= or b. to mail or deliver a letter, card, or other tangible material which is received by a person or persons within the City, with the intent to harass, abuse, or intimidate the recipient of the mailing or delivery= or ce to enter the dwelling or upon the property of another within the City without claim of right or consent of one who has the right to give consent to such entry, with the intent to harass, abuse, or intimidate the owner or occupant of the dwelling or propertyt or d. any conduct, other than that set forth in (o -c) above, directed toward any person or persons within the City, carried out with the intent to harass, abuse, or intimi- date the recipient of the conduct. For the purpose of this section, conduct carried out with the intent to harass, abuse, or intimidate means conduct which under the circumstances, would tend to cause in another such feelings as commonly defined and which does cause such feelings in the recipi- ent. For the purpose of this section, the prohibited conduct need not occur within the corporate limits of the City for such conduct to constitute a violation of this ordinance, so long as the recipient is within City limits at the time the offense is completed. Section 2. Plymouth City Code, S 2000.07 is repealed. Section 3. The following members were present: ayor Virgil 5chnelaer, Council ember"TTr-ain, Sisk and Vasiliou The o ow ng mem ers were absent: none Councilmember Crain introduced the following Resolution and moved Its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 86- 24 APPROVING WINE LICENSE RENEWALS WHEREAS, the City is in receipt of applications for renewal of Wine Licenses f rom: Latuff's Pizzeria 11333 Highway 55 Chin Yuen Restaurant 10820 Highway 55 In accordance with Chapter XII, Subdivision 3 of the Plymouth City Code; and WHEREAS, the applications have been reviewed by the Police Department; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the Council does hereby approve the renewal of wine licenses for the above effective February 1, 1986 through January 31, 1987.
