HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1985-973CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held onthe 16i;h day of December 1985. The following members were present: Mayor Davenpor�'CouncilmembersCra'—in, Neils, Schneider and Vasiliou The following members were absent: none Councilmember Schneider introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 85-973 DENTAL OF ZONING ORDINANCE TEXTUAL AMENDMENT AS PROPOSED BY THE REVEREND JONATHAN STROHSCHEIN FOR GLORY OF CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH (85120) WHEREAS, the Reverend Jonathan Strohschein for Glory of Christ Lutheran Church has requested approval for a Textual Amendment to the City of Plymouth Zoning Ordinance to allow churches in the FRD (future restricted development) District; and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the request at a duly called Public Hearing and recommends denial; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does deny the proposed Zoning Ordinance Textual Amendment for the following reasons: 1. The proposed Amendment is not consistent with the definition and intent of the Future Restricted Development District, which is of rural, not urban, character. 2. The proposed Amendment is not consistent with Development Policy No. 75-664. 3. There are sites in the City within appropriate Urban Zoning Districts which are available for development. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Neils , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: mayor Davenport, Councilmembers Neils and Schneider The following voted against or abstained: LouncilmemDers Craln Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
