HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1985-707CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 9th day of September . 1985. The following members were present: Mayor Davenport, Councilmembers Neils, Schneider, Crain and Vasiliou The following members were absent: none Councilmember Schneider introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 85-707 AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF PUBLIC SERVICE AGREEMENT FOR DAYCARE SERVICES WITH GREATER MINNEAPOLIS DAYCARF ASSOCIATION AND AUTHORIZING ASSIGNMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSI- BILITIES TO HENNEPIN COUNTY WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has executed a Joint. Powers Agreement with Hennepin County, thereby agreeing to participate in a grant application under the Urban County designation provided for in the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974; and, WHEREAS, part of the authorized activity for Year XI is the support of daycare services through the administrative agency known as the Greater Minneapolis Daycare Association; and, WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant Program as administered through the Urban. Hennepin County requires that each City funding daycare activity with Community Development Block Grant montes must sign the Public Service Agreement with the Greater Minneapolis Daycare Association; and, WHEREAS, the Joint Powers Cooperation Agreement with Hennepin County provides for the Cite to authorize Hennepin County to discharge the responsibilities of the City regard- ing the administration of this daycare program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MIN- NESOTA, that it should and hereby does authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute an Agreement with the Greater Minneapolis Daycare Association for child daycare ser- vices for Year XI of the Community Development Block Grant Program as administered through the Urban Hennepin County; FURTHER, be it resolved that the City Manager be authorized to formally request Hennepin County to directly discharge the responsibilities of the City regarding the administration of this program for Year XI, as specified in the Public Service Agree- ment and in the Joint Powers Cooperation Agreement. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Vasiliou , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Davenport, Councilmem.,ers Neils, Schneider, Crain and Vasiliou The following voted against or abstained: none Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
