HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1985-668CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 9th day of September . 1985j. The following members were present:Mavor Davenport. Councilmembers Neils. Schneider, Crain and Vasiliou The following members were absent: none Councilmember Schneider introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 85- 668 DENYING APPEAL BY RONALD HAEKENKAMP OF BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS RULING WHEREAS, Ronald Haekenkamp, pursuant to Section 11, Subdivision C, of the Plymouth Zoning Ordinance, has appealed the August 12, 1985 ruling of the Board of Zoning and Adjustments and Appeals relative to his request for a Variance at 425 Quantico Lane, also described as Lot 9, Block 3, PARKERS LAKESIDE 2ND ADDITION; and, WHEREAS, the petitioner has requested a Variance for a 19% increase of the Ordinance required 30% rear yard lot coverage for an accessory structure, in order to construct a 1,000 sq. ft. garage; and, WHEREAS, the Board of Zoning Adjustments and Appeals considered the matter on August 12, 1985 and their ruling was to deny the Variance request as submitted; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Proceedings of the Board of Zoning Adjust- ments and Appeals, as well as the petitioner's application for the Variance and for the Appeal; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does deny the Appeal by Ronald Haekenkamp from the Board of Zoning Adjustments and Appeals Ruling for the following reasons: 1. The Variance Criteria have not been met. 2. This would establish an undesirable precedent in this neighborhood. 3. An improvement could be developed within the Ordinance standards. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Vasiliou 'and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Davenport, Councilmembers Neils, Schneider. Crain and Vasiliou The following voted against or abstained: none Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
