HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1985-461CITY OF PLYM3M Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 24th day of June , 19 85. The following members were present: Deputy Mayor 10 Schneider Councilmembers Neils Crain and Vasiliou Tee Following members were sent: Mayor Davenoort Councilmember Crain introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 85- 461 A RESOLUTION DENYING THE REQUEST TO FENCE 90' BASEBALL FIELD AT OAKWOOD WHEREAS, District 284 Baseball has requested the City of Plymouth to permanently fence the 90' baseball diamond at Oakwood Playfield, and WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Advisory Cormission has reviewed said request, and WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Advisory Commission recommends that no permanent fencing be established at the Oakwood baseball field at this time, and WHEREAS, this baseball outfield area may be needed as a soccer field at . some time in the future, and WHEREAS, the Plymouth City Council has reviewed said request for fencing the 90' baseball diamond at the Oakwood Playfield, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the request by District 284 Baseball to fence the 90' baseball diamond at the Oakwood Playfield is hereby denied, and, further, that the Park and Recreation Advisory Commission is directed to review this matter in future years to determine whether or not a soccer field at this location will be needed. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Neils , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in avor ere- : Deputy Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Niels, Crain and Vasi 1 iou 10 Me roliowing voted against or abstained: none Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly pass adopted.
