Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regWliC meeting of the City
. Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 1st day of

Councilmember Neils introduced the following Resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 85- 244
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING NEGOTIATIONS FOR
THE ACQUISITION OF PARK PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has an approved Comprehensive Park System Plan,
and
WHEREAS, a deficiency of neighborhood park is indicated in planning neighbor-
hood #43, and
WHEREAS, St. Mary's Church owns property which could be used to alleviate
10 this deficiency, and
WHEREAS, St. Mary's Church wishes to sell some or all of their excess property,
and
WHEREAS, the 1985 Capital Improvements budget of the City allocates $80,000
for neighborhood park land acquisition, and
WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Advisory Commission has reviewed and discussed
this subject, and
WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Advisory Commission has recommended to the
City Council that negotiations for St. Mary's property be started; and
WHEREAS, the Plymouth City Council finds this recommendation to he in the
best interests of the City of Plymouth, '
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the director of Parks and Recreation is authorized
to begin negotiations for the purchase of property from St. Mary's Church
to be used for neighborhood park purposes.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded
