HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1984-756ACITY OF PLVMM Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 15th day of October 1984. The following members were present: Mayor Davenport, Councilor ers ne er, — Moen Crain and Neils efollowing members were absent: None s.s Councilmember Moen introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 84-756 A RESOLUTION ON THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, the majority of the employees of the City of Plymouth belong to the Public Employees Retirement Association; and WHEREAS, a number of Public Employees Retirement Association Board members have raised significant questigns relating to the appointment process used to hire an interim Executive Direcc,r of the Public Employees Retirement Association; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plymouth wants to Insure that all Public Employees Retirement Association Board members meet their fiduciary responsibilities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT :,c,'ESY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota requests that a five year compliance audit of the Public Employees Retire- ment Association be conducted by the Legislative Auditor; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Plymouth supports the proposal to remove the interim executive director and to provide for an open process to select a Public Employees Retirement Association Executive Director; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Plymouth requests that the Minnesota Legislative Commission on Pensions and Retirement review the election process of Public Employees Retirement Association Board Members to determine if there is a better way to provide a broader representation of Public Employees Retire- ment Association members on the Public Employees Retirement Association Board. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Schneider , and upon vote being taken thereon, t e followingvoted in avorreo r rt CouncHmembers Schneider Moen Crain and Neils e following voted against, or /hereupon the Resolution was declared duly ted.
