HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1984-596CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 27th _ day of August 1984. The following members were present:MaYor Davenport, CounciIMEMbers Moen, Neils, Schneider and Crain The following members were absent: none Councilmember Crain introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 84- 596 AGREEMENT FOR TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS NATHAN/LANCASTER LANE AND COUNTY ROAD 9 CITY PROJECT NO. 128 WHEREAS, agreement for participation in the construction and operation of a traffic control signal system on County State Aid Highway No. 9 at Lancaster/ Nathan Lane, Hennepin County Project No. 8429, Agreement No. PW 28-17-84 has been prepared and presented to the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH that said agreement be in all things approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Manager are authorised to sign Agreement No. PW 28-17-84, Hennepin County Project No. 8429. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that $37,650 be transferred from the City's M.S.A. Fund (402-402-965) to the Construction Fund (401-000-128) to finance said construction. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Counci1member Moen , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:MMr Davenport. Councilmembers Moen, Neils, Schneider and Crain The following voted against or abstained: none Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Hennepin County, Minnesota, was held at the City Hall In said City on Tuesday August 28 1984, commencing at 5:30 O'clock P.M. The following Councilmembers were present: Mayor Davenport, Councilmembers Moen, Neils, Schneider and Crain and the following were absent: None The City Clark presented affidavits &bowing publication and Posting Of notice of the spacial election hold In and for the City on August 27, 1984, which affidavits were examined and found satisfactory and ordered placed on file. The City Clark then presented the offi- cial returns to the election judges of the special election. Said returns were duly examined, canvassed and, upon the follow - Ing question, found to be as follows: Question: SHALL THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH ISSUE AND SELL ITS GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $7,900,000 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING MONIES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPPING OF A NEW MUNICIPAL COMMUNITY CENTER? Total of Returns from All Precincts: Votes YES Votes NO Defective or Blank Ballots TOTAL BALLOTS 636 3.433 7 A_n76 Councilmember Schneider thereupon introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption the reading of which was dispensed with by unanimous consent: RESOLUTION DECIMING RESULTS OF SPECIAL U ND ELECTION NO. 84-59 7 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of llyoutb, Minnesota, that it is hereby found and detes*iaed that at tbs special election held in and for said City on August 27, 1ldi, upon the following question: SHALL THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH ISSUE AND SELL ITS GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS IN AN AIWWr NOT TO EXCEED $7,900,000 FOR THE PUMSE OF FEEOYIDING MONIES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND EQUI"ING OF A NEW MUNICIPAL COMUNITT CENTER? there were cast a total of A -nom votes, of which 636! were is favor of the aforesaid bond issue, and 3-433 were against the sasus 7 ballots were spoiled or defective; and the bond issue in question is hereby declared UppmovieW (disapproved). 7 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Neils , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Davenport, Councilmembers Moen, Neils, Schneider and Crain and the following voted against the same: None whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
