RESOLUTION NO. 84- 504
RECOGNITION OF CLIFTON E. FRENCH
UPON HIS RETIREMENT AS SUPERINTENDENT OF THE
HENNEPIN COUNTY PARK RESERVE DISTRICT
WHEREAS, Clifton E. French has served as the Superintendent of the Hennepin
County Park Reserve District since 1962; and
WHEREAS, twenty-two years ago the Park District had one 210 acre park and
today encompasses a system of regional parks and park reserves of more than
24,000 acres; and
WHEREAS, it has been through the foresight, determination, and dedication of
Clif French that the Hennepin County Park Reserve District has grown to meet
the present and future needs of the residents of Hennepin County; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition and development of the Hennepin County Park Reserve
District has provided a superb example of how foresighted planning can
preserve substantial areas of beauty for future generations; and
WHEREAS, Clif French is to retire as Superintendent of the Park Reserve
District effective July 31, 1984;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it express its gratitude on behalf of the present
and future residents of Plymouth for the foresight, dedication and leadership
exercised by Clifton E. French in acquiring and assisting in the development
of the Hennepin County Park Reserve for this and future generations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Council wishes Clif its best wishes for a
rich, rewarding and healthy retirement.
