Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the gth day of June 1984.
The following members were present: Manor Davenpor ouncilrnembers 146en
Schneider and Crain
The following members were absent: n
Councilmember Neils introduced the following Resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 84- 407
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR REVISED PENSION BENEFITS
FOR THE PLYMOUTH VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS RELIEF ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, officers of the Plymouth Volunteer Firefighters Relief Association have
approached the City Council for revisions in the pension benefits available to
Plymouth Volunteer Firefighters; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has met with the Relief Association and has prepared a
report recommending increases in the pension benefits, which increase will require a
tax subsidy by the City; and
WHEREAS, the State Legislature adopted Minnesota Statutes 1982, Section 69.773,
Subdivision 6 requiring ratification by the governing body of the municipality where
proposed pension benefit revisions will require a contribution from the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth,
Minnesota, that it hereby approves budgeting the necessary funds for the revised
pension program as outlined in the City Manager's report dated June 15, 1984; and
FURTHER, that the revised pension benefits program shall become effective on or after
January 1, 1985 following approval of the revised Relief Association Bylaws by this
Council.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Moen , and upon vote being taken thereon, te
ollowing voted n favorthereof: Nlmr Davenport, Councilmembers Moen, Neils,
Schneider and Crain
The following voted against orabstained: none
