Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the -21st day of May . 1984.
The following members were present: Mayor Davenport, ouncilmembe—rssoe—n, Nei is,
Schneider and Crain
The following mamber3 were sent: none
Councilmember Neils introduced the following Resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION 84-342
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE APPOINTMENT OF RUTH FRANKLIN TO REPRESENT
DISTRICT L OF THE REGIONAL TRANSIT BOARD
WHEREAS, the 1984 Legislature created the Regional Transit Board for the purpose of
promoting metropolitan wide transit planning and operations; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council is empowered to select the 14 representatives to
the Regional Transit Board from previously defined districts in the metropolitan
area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth is included in Regional Transit Board District L; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Franklin has expressed a desire in serving as Regional Transit Board
member representing District L; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Franklin has obtained substantial transit experience through serving as
a Metropolitan Transit Commissioner; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Franklin, through her actions, has demonstrated concern for increasing
metropolitan transit effectiveness through competition and the encouragement of
Innovative transit programs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth,
Minnesota, that it should and hereby does support the appointment of Ruth Franklin to
the position of Regional Transit Board member representing District L.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Mayyr

Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed adopted.
