Acting Mayor Schneider introduced. the following_Resolution and moved its

RESOLUTION NO. 84- 305
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PRIVATE
SUBURBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY
WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners has scheduled a public hearing to
discuss the possible creation of a Suburban Hennepin County Community Action Agency;
and
WHEREAS, the creation of a Suburban Hennepin County Community Action Agency would
make available greater resources for the delivery of human services to residents of
the County; and
WHEREAS, the Northwest, West and South Human Services Councils have developed a broad
range of expertise for human services planning and advocacy, and the Human Services
Councils provide a means of grassroots support for the human service delivery system
in the Hennepin County area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth,
that it should and hereby does support the creation of a Suburban Hennepin County
Community Action Agency subject to the following provisions:
1. That the Suburban Hennepin County Community Action Agency be a private CAA
under the applicable statutes.
2. That the expertise, background and resources of the Northwest, West and South
Human Services Councils be utilized by the Suburban Hennepin Community Action
Agency in planning, delivery and advocating human services throughout the
Hennepin County area on a continuing basis.
3. That convenient access to human services be enhanced throughout the Hennepin
County area by decentralizing human service delivery locations to prominent
regional centers.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
