Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a _ regular

Councilmember Neils Introduced the following Resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 84-70
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION EFFORTS
OF THE WAYZATA AREA CHEMICAL HEALTH COMMISSION
WHEREAS, alohol and drug abuse is recognized to be a major national health problem;
and
WHEREAS, the affect of alcohol and drug abuse can be tragic as well as demeaninq to
the quality of life in our community; and
WHEREAS, the prevention of alcohol and drug abuse begins with each individual and
family unit; and
WHEREAS, preventive efforts are promoted through thoughtful, ongoing discussions
among all segments of the community; and
WHEREAS, the Wayzata Area Chemical Health Commission Is making a special effort to
organize a program of ongoing community-based activites under the theme, "Please
Don't Do Nothing."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth,
Minnesota, that it should and hereby does support the alcohol and drug abuse preven-
tion efforts of the Wazyata Area Chemical Health Commission and further encourages
members of the Plymouth community to actively participate and support these important
efforts.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmemher Schneider , and upon vote being taken thereon, the
o lowing voted in favor thereof: Mayor Davenport, Councilmembers Moen,
