HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1984-052CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meetlnq of the City Council of the City 3f Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the th day of January , 1984, The following members were present: Mayor Davenpor�cilmembe FS Re'T— — Schneider and Crain The following members were absent: Councilmemner Mayor Davenport introduced the following Resolution and moved Its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 84-52 RESOLUTION APPROVING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING AND AUTHORIZING CITY PARTICIPATION IN THE "MUNICIPAL LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION" WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 471.59 permits two or more governing units of the State of Minnesota, by agreement of their governing bodies, to jointly and cooperatively exercise any power which any one of them can perform; and WHEREAS, In accordance with statutory authorization, the City of Plymouth has chosen to execute a joint powers agreement providing for the creation a Municipal Legislative Commission for the development of legislative programs on matters of mutual concern to the members of the organization; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, that It should and hereby does authorize the Mayor and City Manaaer to enter into a joint and cooperative agreement creating the Municipal Legislative Commission, and further that an expenditure of S9,200 is hereby authorized as the City's 1984 contribution to the organization, and that such funding shall he drawn from account no. 101-190-899.46. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Neils,and upon vote beingtal��n thereon the ollowing voted n favor thereof: port, CouncilmemberNeils, Schneider and Crain ,ne voiiowing voteo against or aostained: none Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
