NO. 83- 674 SETTING WATER AND SANITARY SEWER AREA AND RESIDENTIAL EQUIVALENT CONNECTION CHARGES AAA WHEREAS, the City has obligated itself financially for the constructiion of sanitary sewer interceptors, trunks, forcemains and lift stations; and water trunk mains, supply and storage facilities for the benefit of present and future residents; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by this Council that the most equitable and reason- able way of financing said improvements is through a combination of area charge upon land benefited by such improvements, as well as connection charges for specific uses; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH that the following water and sanitary sewer area and residential equivalent connec- tions (REC) charges be and the same are adopted by the City of Plymouth for all land deemed to be benefited from water and/or sanitary sewer facilities which have not heretofore been assessed for said benefits by the City effective January 1, 1984: WATER Area Charges: Residential Zones - $640 per 1/2 acre or per dwelling unit Business and Ind. Zones - $1920 per acre Residential Equivalent Connection Charges: Residential Zones - $510 per dwelling unit Business and Ind. Zones - See NOTE 1 below SANITARY SEWER Area Charges: Residential Zones - $355 per 1/2 acre or per dwelling unit Business and Ind. Zones - $1065 per acre Residential Equivalent Connection Charges: Residential Zones - $300 per dwelling unit Business and Ind. Zones - See NOTE 1 below AND, ffiRTH€R, the area charges shall be reviewed and revised each November 17 coin x man Lingg ,in 19,84, based upon, the change in the EPA Index for Sewer Construction as ixibTished in the Engineering News Recsird, with the Eiase `index being 2M. - shed / NOTE is Residential Equivalent Connection (REC) charges for business and Industrial zoned land shall be_a,pplied to each specific use in determining that particular uses water and sanitary sewer REC charges based upon the following: The relationship between the estimated annual demand (volume) for water and sanitary sewer service based upon one REC being equivalent to 72,000 gallons of rater and 72,000 gallons ; :f sewage flow per year as projected by the City Engineer for said use.
