RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH THE CITIES OF INVER GROVE HEIGHTS,
ST. ANTHONY, COLUMBIA HEIGHTS AND NORTH ST. PAUL FOR THE
ACQUISITION OF FIRE PUMPERS
WHEREAS, historically cities have acquired fire pumper equipment Individually; and
WHEREAS, through standardization of specification and joint purchasing it is believed
that purchasing costs can be reduced; and
WHEREAS, a joint powers agreement has been drafted between the cities of Inver Grove
Heights, St. Anthony, Columbia Heights, North St. Paul and Plymouth for the
acquisition of fire pumpers;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth,
Minnesota, that it should and hereby does;
1. Authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute said agreement on behalf of
the City of Plymouth.
2. Appoint the Fire Chief and Public Safety Director as City representatives to
this joint powers group.
3. That the specifications for the fire pumpers provide that after bids are
received, the acquiesence of all communities will be required before hid Items
are purchased so that cities are not obliged to acquire equipment If the bid
price proves to be excessive or if a city encounters funding difficulties
prior to placing such equipment on order.
The notion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
unciimember Schneider and upon vote being taken t�

Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly .
