Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a reular meetinq of the City Council of

Councilmember Schneider Introduced the following Resolution and moved its

RESOLUTION NO. R3-312
RE SOLUT ION SUPPORTING THE OR31 CT I VE S OF TNF
MINNESOTA ENERGY CONSERVATION SERVICE AND
AIITHORI7ING CITY PROMOTION OF THE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the National Energy Conservation Policy Act of 197A mandates the
implementation of fuel conservation efforts; and
WHERLAS, the Minnesota Department of Energy, Planninq and Development has developed
the Minnesota Energy Conservation Service; and
WHEREAS, through this program, homeowners may receive an enerqy audit to Identify
ways In which to conserve fuel and save heating costs; and
. WHEREAS, the City Council firmly supports the philosophy of conservation of our
national energy resources; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Energy Conservation Service Program will benefit Plymouth
homeowners individually and our society through the conservation of precious
resources;
NOW, THLRI_FOHL, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the C'.ty Council of the City of Plymouth,
that it should and hereby does authorize the City's participation and promotion of
the Minnesota Energy Conservation Service through direct mail, newspaper and CIty
publications;
FURTHER, that the staff is hereby authorized to apply for a Minnesota Department of
Energy grant to defray costs associated with such promotional efforts.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by

Schneider and Threinen
