Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of
the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the
11th day of _ April , 19 83 . The following members
were present:Mayar DavenDort.Councilmembers Moen, Neils and Threinen
The following members were absent,__Councilmember Schnee er
CoupcilmMber Moen introduced the following Resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 83-200
A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH'S
"LIFE. BE IN IT." PROGRAM AND DECLARING JUNE 4th
AS "LIFE. BE IN IT." DAY FOR THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH
WHEREAS, individual and organized forms of recreation and the creative use of free
time have gained growing importance in the lives of all Americans as they find
more and more time freed for personal pursuits, and;
WHEREAS, organized sports is only one avenue of recreation; rather recreation
encompasses a myraid of activities that result in satisfaction and family unity, and;
WHEREAS, recreation is not confined to the young and these with great physical
prowess, but can be pursued by persons of all ages in programs of arts and
crafts, tourism, cultural endeavors and nature studies, and;
1bWHEREAS, the "Life. Be In It." program, unlike others of its genre, promotes a
zestful approach to life in general through the encouragement of a broad range
of inexpensive recreation activities that do not demand special instructions or
special equipment, and;
WHEREAS, the "Life. Be In It." program, in its most far-reaching benefits can
help promote personal growth through constructive use of free time by subtly
highlighting new avenues of interest to every individual in the community,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA
endorses the "Life. Be In It." program and urges all the citizens to participate
in said program and hereby further declares Saturday, June 4th, "Life. Be In It."
Day for the City of Plymouth, Minnesota.
10 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Neils , and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in or thereof: Mayor Davenport, Councilmembers Moen,

Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
