HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1983-067Councilmember Threinen introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 83-67 DENYING LAND USE GUIDE PLAN AMENDMENT AND RESIDENTIAL PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT PLAN FOR PROGRAMMED LAND, INCORPORATED FOR PROPERTY LOCATED SOUTH OF 15TH AVFNIIF, NORTH OF 11TH AVENUE, AND WEST OF PINEVIEW LANE (81074) WHEREAS, Programmed Land, Incorporated has requested approval of a Land Ilse Cwide Plan Amendment to reclassify land from the IP (planned industrial) and LA -1 (low density residential) classifications to LA -2 (low medium density residential) classification; and, of a Residential Planned Unit Development Concept Plan for property located south of 15th Avenue, North of 11th Avenue, and west of Pineview Lane; and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the proposal at a duly called Public Hearing and has recommended denial; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does deny the Land Use ruide Plan Amendment and Residential Planned Unit Development Concept Plan for Programmed Land, Incorporated for property located south of 15th Avenue, north of 11th Avenue, and west of Pineview Lane, for the following reasons: 1. The proposed density based upon the proposed quidnq is not appropriate for this area. 2. The submitted RPUD Concept Plan is based upon the density of the proposed reguiding. 3. Traffic generated by the proposed number of units would have a negative impact on the neighborhood. 4. An impproved PUD design and transition is possible without the proposed LA -2 reguiding.
