HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1982-676CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a _regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 20th day of December . 19 82, The following members were present: Mayor Dayenpor ouncilmembersr'P T?s, — Schneider and Threinen TFw following rs were sen Mayor Davenport introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 82 - 676 COMMENDING CHAIRMAN OF THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL WHEREAS, Charles Weaver has served as Chairman of the Metropolitan Council since February 1978; and WHEREAS, during his tenure as Chairman of the Metropolitan Council substantial pro- gress has been made in strengthening relationships with Twin City area municipali- ties; and WHEREAS, the ongoing planning process of the Council has demonstrated the need for closer coordination, cooperation and communication with the municipalities of the metropolitan area; and WHEREAS, ^harles Weaver has demonstrated his commitment to improvInq the overall coordinatio.i, cooperation and communication between the Council, its staff and the communities of the metropolitan area, typifying the highest ideals of dedicated public service; and WHEREAS, Charles Weaver is completing his appointment as Chairman of the Metropolitan Council at the end of 1982; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYM(X1TH, MINNESOTA, that it expresses its sincere and deep appreciation for the outstanding leadership and commitment to metropolitan area planning that has exemplified the tenure of Charles Weaver as Chairman of the Metropolitan Council since 1978: and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Charles Weaver be congratulated fo► his dedication in seeking to promote and foster improved coordination, cooperation and communication with the metropolitan area as the Metropolitan Council seeks to carry out its planning responsibilities. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Moenand upon vote being taken thereon, e ollowing voted in favor thereof: Mayor avenport, Councilmembers Moen, Neils,
