HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1982-636777777 CITU OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was heli on the 6th day of December . 19 82 The following members were present: Mayor Davenport, Councilmembers Moen, Neils, Shnejder and Threinen TIWTU-Ilowlng members were sent: none Councilmember Schneider introduced the followinq Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 82-636 RESOLUTION SUSTAINING FIRE INSPECTOR ORDER NOS. 811230-1 AND 820316-1 WHEREAS, Orders 811230-1 and 820316-1 require that monitorinq system:- he installed on fire sprinkler systems at Vantage Company buildings located at 2641 Annapolis Lane and at West Point Office Complex buildings E, B, C and D; and WHEREAS, the requirement for fire sprinkler monitoring system was ordered in accor- dance with Uniform Fire Code Section 10.309C; and WHEREAS, the City Council has conducted an appeals hearinq in accordance with Section 905.15 of the City Code during which the appellant has had an opportunity to present materials and evidence supporting his case; and WHEREAS, after hearing all facts the City Council sitting as the Board of Appeals concludes that the implementation of 1979 Uniform Code Section 10.309C is essential to minimize hazard to property and life in the City of Plymouth based upon the following findings: 1. Buildings located in the commercial industrial zone are not subject to con- tinuous observation since employees leave at night. Consequently there are few individuals in the commercial -industrial zone during the evenings and weekends. With no one to observe the structures continuously, a fire could start and not be observed for a substantial period of time increasing the likelihood of property damage throuqh smoke, fire or water damaqe and Increasing the risk to life for fire fighters who are called upon to fight such fires. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, that it should and hereby does sustain the findinqs of the Plymouth Fire Inspector as contained in Orders No. 811230-1 and 820316-1.
