HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1982-590CITY (F PLYMdITN Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on t 1�sstt day of November 1982. The following numbers were present:_flavor DavenDort�cilmembers Moen, FROMs, schneider and Threinen Ine following rs were absent: none aaa aaa aaa Ce-ncilmember Threinen introduced the following Resolution and waved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 8? -590 RESOLUTION APENDING THE POLICY CONCFRNINC REOUESTS FOR STOP SIGN INSTALLATION WHEREAS, Resolution No. 81-389 adopted dune 22, 1982 adopted a policy governing the City Council's processing of stop sign requests; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to revise this policy in order that the procedure Is current and up to date; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Plymouth hereby approves the following amendments to the dune 22, 1982 Policy Concerning Requests for Stop Sign Installation: 1. Paragraph Number 6 is revised to read: 6. Following a presentation by the petitioner, the City Council may direct that: a. An independent traffic analysis be undertaken. ef- ur---44h._L" Engfne�r - rim -de m yl- g-t-ire-rec es s b. That the Public Safety Department perform radar surveillance of the intersection; or E. Deny the request. 2. Paragraph Number 8 is added as follows: S. If the radar surveillance study shows excessive vehicular speed at the intersection then the Council ma or er or staff will undertake radar ticketing in an effort to bring vehicular speed into con ormance w t the posted speed limit. A report as to the effectiveness of such continuing efforts shall be periodically provided to the City Council as a means of showing the status of enforcement efforts. The notion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by _nnnrilmamh r Neils , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Davenport, Councilmembers Moen, Neils, Srhnat_rler and Threinen The following voted against or abstained: none Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
