HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1982-574Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 5 day of November . 1982. The following members were present: Maver_Qavennart._Coyncilmembers Moen, Neils, zSrhneider and Threinen thehfoTrowwii ng members were absent: _none CnWncilmember Schneider introduced the followinq Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 82-574 DETERMINATION OF SUBSTANTIALLY SIMILAR USE FOR GLASS BLOWING LABORATORY IN THE R-3 (SERVICE BUSINESS) ZONING DISTRICT (82056) WHEREAS, Carding-Matuzuk Properties has requested that a glass blowing laboratory as proposed by Florell Glass Blowing Incorporated be Found to be a substantially similar use to medical and dental laboraties as permitted uses in the B-3 Zoning District; and, WHEREAS, the Zoning Ordinance at Section 11, Subdivisiun E, Paragraph 2 provides that the Planning Commission may recommend and the City Council may determine that a use is substantially similar to a use included in the toning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission considered the request at the October 13, 1982 meeting and has recommended approval; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does determine that the glass blowing laboratory use as proposed by Garding-Matuzuk Properties for Florell Glass Blowing Incorporated is substantially similar to medical and dental laboratories which are recognized as permitted uses in the B-3 (service business) Zoning District; FURTHER, the administrative staff is hereby directed to modify Section 8, Subdivision E of the City Zoning Ordinance to include glass blowing laboratory with medical and dental laboratories as a permitted use in the 9-3 Toning District. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by rnajnri lmPmher Moen , and upon vote beinq taken thereon, t following voted in favor thereof: Mayor yenggri.
