RESOLUTION APPROVING THE INSTALLATION OF NO PARKING SIGNS
ON THE NORTH SIDE OF 1ST AVENUE NORTH BEGINNING ON THE WEST
AT STATE HIGHWAY 101 AND PROCEEDING EASTERLY TO THE INTERSECTION
OF 1ST AVENUE AND INLAND LANE
WHEREAS, the City Council has received a petition from residents representing some 15
households along 1st Avenue North between State Highway 101 and Inland Lane; and
WHEREAS, residents living adjacent to 1st Avenue North have expressed concern for the
` safety of life and property due to substantial traffic and parking which has occurred
along 1st Avenue North due to recreational activities taking place on the Independent
School District 284 property located just to the north; and
WHEREAS, the City Council sees the installation of no parking signs as an effective
method of reducing the hazard to life and property by encouraging parking in the
School District Administration lot rather than on the street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the installation of no parking
signs on the north side of 1st Avenue North between State Highway 101 and Inland
Lane; and further directs that the City Engineer initiate necessary procedures for
the Installation of said signage.
The 'motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
o n ilmember Threinen , and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted n ravor thereof: Mayor Davenport, Councilmembers Mgen, Neils,
M` P Aeb Aider and Threinen
The following voted against or abstained: none
Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
