HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1982-202CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the th day of April , 1982_ The following members were present: Mayor Davenport,76uncilmembers oen, eider The ollowinq members were absent: Councilmember Hoyt Councilmember Threinen introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 82-202 RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ONE OR MORE DEVELOPMENT DISTRICTS PURSUANT TO MINNESOTA STATUTES CHAPTER 472.A. WHEREAS, the City Manager in d report dated October 23, 1981 recommended that the City Council consider establishinq one or more development districts; and WHEREAS, the City Council on October 26, 1981 reviewed the City Manaqer's report and noted that the creation of such development districts would achieve certain public objectives; and WHEREAS, the City Manager in d report dated April 16, 1982 has recommended that a public hearinq be held on the creation of two development districts pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter 472.A.; WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that an essential. first step in the establishment of any tax increment financinq prooram for the proposed two development districts requires the establishment of development districts pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter 472.A. dnd the adoption of d development program for such districts: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RFSOLVFO by the City Council of the City of Plymouth that the Council shall meet at 7:30 p.m., Monday, June 7, 1982 for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on the establishment of two development districts pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chdpter 472.A. and further that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to )ublish a notice of said hearings in substantially the form of the notice attached ')ereto as Exhibit A. The motion for adoption of the foregolnq Resolution was duly seconded by _Councilmember Moen , and upon vote beinq taken thereon, the Ma ollowing voted in favor thereof: yor-6avenport, Councilmembers Moen, Schneider Igoe tuiiowirg vorea against or abstained: none Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. EXHIBIT A NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ESTABLISHMENT OF ONE OR MORE DEVELOPMENT OTSTRIfTS CITY OF PLYMOUTH NOTICE IS HEREBY given that the City Council of the City of Plymouth will meet in the Council Chambers of the City Center, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, Plymouth, Minnesota, at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, dune 7, 1982 for the purpose of conductinq a public hearina on the establishment of two development districts pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter 472.A. and adopting a development program for each of the two districts. The two proposed development districts are identified and located as follows: 1. Central Development District located in the vicinity of Interstate Highway 494 and Highway 55. The general boundaries of the proposed development district (which will be finally set by the City Council upon establishment of the development district) will be Highway 55 on the south, Interstate 494 on the west, 45th Avenue on the north, and the east line of Sections 15, 22, and 27 on the east. . 2. Southeast Development District located in the vicinity of the intersection of County Road 18 and Highway 55. The qeneral boundaries of the proposed development district (which will be finally set by the City Council upon establishment of the development district) will he the City boundary on the east, Highway 55 on the south, Smith Shore Drive /Minneopolis Industrial Railway on the north, and the west line of Section 3A+ on west. Proposed development programs for each of the two development districts will be on file with the City Planning Department for public Inspection prior to the public hearing.
