Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of
io the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the
29th day of March , 19 82 . The following members were
present: Ma or Davenport, Councilmembers Moen Schneider and Threinen
The following members were absent: Councilmember Hoyt
Councilmember Schneider introduced the following Resolution and
moved its a option:
RESOLUTION NO. 82- 158
REQUESTING METROPOLITAN COUNCIL TO REVISE
FUNCTIONAL CLASSIFICATION OF COUNTY ROAD 15
AND CARLSON PARKWAY IN PLYMOUTH AND MINNETONKA, MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, it has been deemed proper and in the public interest to develop approved
comprehensive land use plans in both the cities of Minnetonka and Plymouth, and
WHEREAS, certain streets and highways have functional classifications on the
comprehensive land use plans which differ from the official Metropolitan Council
Transportation System Functional Classification Map, and
WHEREAS, an interchange is proposed to be constructed along I-494 at County Road
15 in Plymouth, Minnesota, and
WHEREAS, Metro Council Interchange Criteria requires County Road 15 and Carlson
Parkway to be officially reclassified in accordance with the Comprehensive Land
Use Plans of Minnetonka and Plymouth, and
WHEREAS, the County Road 15/I-494 interchange has long been supported by the
cities of Minnetonka and Plymouth, Hennepin County, the Metropolitan Council and
the Minnesota Department of Transportation,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the Metropolitan Council is hereby requested to revise its official
Transportation System Functional Classification Map as follows:
1. Proposed Carlson Parkway from T.H. 12 to I-494 shall be designated
as a minor arterial.
2. Existing County Road 61 from I-494 to Xenium Lane shall be designated
as a minor arterial.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Moen and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in avor ereo : Mayor Davenport, Councilmembers Moen,
Schneider and Threinen
The following voted against or abstained: none
Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
