Minnesota was he d on t e 6th day of April , 19 81. The following members were present: Mayor DavenRgrt, CouncilmembersHo t, Schneider and Threinen The following members were absent: ouncil�member Neils _ Councilmember Schneider introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION #81-224 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES GROUP LIFE INSURANCE AND GROUP MEDICAL AND DENTAL STOP -LOSS INSURANCE. WHEREAS, the City has received bids projecting health plan costs for the policy year April 1, 1981 through March 31, 1982, and WHEREAS, after carefully analyzing the projected claims and premiums for the ensuing year the amount appears justified when compared to the rising cost for medical services, and WHEREAS, it is recommended by the Finance Director that the City also self -insure the Employee Dental Program as well as the Group Medical, and Workers' Compensation Programs, arA WHEREAS, the Safeco Life Insurance Company was the only bidder of the entire insurance package per specifications, and WHIJUAS, after carefully reviewing all of the financial figures the bid of Safeco Life Insurance Company has been deter:r:ined to furnish the requested coverages for the most reasonable cost. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that the contract for City Employees Group Life Insurance, and Group Medical and Dental Stop -Loss Reinsurance covering employees of the City of Plymouth for the year 1981-82 be and the same is hereby awarded to the Safeco Life Insurance Company, in accordance with their proposal dated March 26, 1981. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by and upon vote being taken thereon, the following vo n favor thereof; mayor Daven nrt, Councilmembers Hoyt.
