Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of
the City Council of the City of Plymouth, W nn esota was held on the
23rd day of March , 19 81. The following members were
present: Actina Moyor Neils Councilmembers Hot Schneider and Threinen
The followT-ngmembers were absent: Magor Davenport

CounrilambCr Hoyt introduced the following Resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 81-203
REGARDING LAND IN PLYMOUTH CITY CENTER AND USE FOR COUNTY BRANCH LIBRARY (A-94)
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has approved plans for an area known as "Downtown
Plymouth" which includes the site of the Plymouth City Center; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed desirable that said City Center site contain not only
facilities for the City but also related compatible facilities; and,
WHEREAS, the location of a branch library of the Hennepin County Library System
within the City Center site would be a desirable addition to the site; and,
WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Library Board administrative staff has indicated an
interest in identifying an approximate three acre site within the City Center
limits;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does authorize the City Manager to meet with
the representatives of the Hennepin County Library Board to develop a preliminary
site plan for a County Branch Library on an approximate three acre site in the
northwest corner of the City Center site; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon acceptance by the City Council of a site plan
and building program timetable, the City will either lease or sell the required
land to the Hennepin County Library Board.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
and upon vote being taken thereon, the

Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
