Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of
the City Council of the City of Plymouth, KiMnesota was held on the
10 23rd day of February , 1981 . The following members were

Councilmember Schneider introduced the following Resolution and
movid its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 81-126
UPDATING POLICY ON BUILDING SETBACKS FROM FUTURE STREETS IDENTIFIED ON ADOPTED
THOROUGHFARE GUIDE PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Council on February 5, 1973 adopted Resolution No. 73-54
establishing a policy on building setbacks from future streets; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council on June 23, 1980 adopted Resolution No. 80-400
approving an updated Thoroughfare Guide Plan; and,
WHEREAS, using the Thoroughfare Guide Plan as a planning tool it is in the best
interests of the City and private property owners to properly space buildings
from future thoroughfare streets so as to insure that proper setbacks and access
is provided to the property when the streets are construct4d in accordance with
the adopted plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does direct the preparation of a policy
resolution updating Policy Resolution No. 73-54 establishing the following:
When a proposed thoroughfare street alignment and/or right-cf-way width
is known, the City staff shall, whenever practical, consider the proposed
street location and street right-of-way as though it were, in fact, exist-
ing when computing building setback requirements; and future possible
platting and development of the subject land shall also be considered.
Further, the City staff is directed to consider these requirements for
inclusion in future revisions to the City Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision
Code.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Ho t and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: ayor Davenport, Councilmembers Hoyt,
Neils, Schneider & Threinen
The following voted against or abstained: None
Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
