HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2013-209CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION No. 2013-209 A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THE CHURCHILL FARMS EDGE MILL AND OVERLAY PROJECT CITY PROJECT NO. 13021 WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution passed by the Council on July 9, 2013, the City Engineer has prepared plans and specifications for improvement No. 13021, the improvement of the Churchill Farms Edge Mill and Overlay Project located south of Medina Road to, and including, 37th Avenue from, and including, Alvarado Lane to, and including, Urbandale Lane; north of County Road 24 to 37th Avenue from, and including, Zircon Lane to 450 feet west of Walnut Grove Lane on 34th Avenue and 180 feet west Walnut Grove Lane on 32"a Avenue but excluding Xanthus Lane south of 32"a Avenue; and 31st Avenue and 31st Place from Zircon Lane to the cul-de-sacs west by edge mill and overlay of bituminous pavement, and all necessary appurtenances, and has presented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in Minneapolis Builders Exchange an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published three times, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the City Clerk until 10:00 a.m. on August 8, 2013 at which time they will be publicly opened in the City Council Chambers of the Plymouth City Center building at 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, Plymouth, Minnesota, by the engineer and City Clerk, will then be tabulated, and will be considered by the council at 7 p.m. on August 27, 2013, in the council chambers. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity to address the council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five percent of the amount of such bid.
