Mayor Slavik called a Special Meeting of the Plymouth City Council to order at 5:35 p.m. in the
Medicine Lake Room of City Hall, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, on May 28, 2013.
COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Slavik, Councilmembers Wosje, Willis, Bildsoe, and Stein.
ABSENT: Councilmembers Black and Johnson.
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Ahrens, Administrative Services Director Callister, Public
Works Director Cote, Transit and Solid Waste Manager Hellekson, Transit Coordinator Maciej,
and City Clerk Engdahl.
Transit Discussion
The Council held a discussion on the Metropolitan Council's 2014-2017 Transportation
Improvement Program which includes the proposed dynamic should lane in I-494. The Council
requested that staff prepare a letter to the Metropolitan Council asking that Bus Rapid Transit
BRT) be considered along the Highway 55 corridor. This letter would be on the June 11 Council
agenda.
Transit and Solid Waste Manager Hellekson provided an update on the use of Station 73.
Public Works Director Cote provided a handout on revenue and expenditures in the transit fund
from 2005 through 2017.
