HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2005-401CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2005-401 AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT NO. PW 39-17-05 FOR PARTIAL TRAIL FUNDING FOR UNION PACIFIC TRAIL CROSSING ALONG CSAH 61 (XENIUM LANE) AT 13TH AVENUE CITY PROJECT NO. 5116 WHEREAS, the City has requested County participation in the costs of constricting a 350 foot long bicycle and pedestrian trail adjacent and along CSAH 61 (Xenium Lane) from the Luce Line Trail (13th Avenue) to north of the tracks of the Union Pacific Railroad; and WHEREAS, constriction of the above mentioned trail segment includes a crossing of the tracks of the Union Pacific Railroad, and WHEREAS, the constriction of the aforesaid trail segment shall be identified and accomplished under City Project No. 5116 (County Project No. 0529); and WHEREAS, the Project will be constricted by Railroad and City forces as specified in a separate agreement between the City and the Railroad; and WHEREAS, the City or its agent has prepared an estimate for the constriction contract work in the amount of Thirty Five Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($35,000.00); and WHEREAS, CSAH 61 is designated as a bikeway on both the Hennepin County Bicycle Transportation Plan and the City of Plymouth Trail and Sidewalk Plan; and WHEREAS, the Project is eligible for participation under Hennepin County's bikeway cost participation policy; and WHEREAS, Agreement No. PW 39-17-05 provides for a cost sharing agreement whereby Hennepin County has agreed to pay the City fifty (50) percent of the project costs up to a maximum of $17,500. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That 1. The Mayor and City Manager are authorized to execute Agreement No. PW 39-17- 05. 2. The City Clerk shall forward two copies of the executed agreement and two copies of the certified resolution to Mr. James N. Grube, P.E., Director of Transportation and County Engineer, 1600 Prairie Drive, Medina, MN 55340. Adopted by the City Council on October 25, 2005.
