RESOLUTION NO. 2005-272
AUTHORIZING STAFF TO NEGOTIATE A CONTRACT FOR
CONSULTANT ASSISTANCE ON THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE
WHEREAS, in 1996 the Minnesota Legislature adopted amendments to the Metropolitan
Land Planning Act which require all cities in the Metro Area to update their
comprehensive plans every ten years; and
WHEREAS, the next update is due in 2008; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth will be updating its comprehensive plan in order to
meet the requirements of the law; and
WHEREAS, on May 24, 2005, the Council authorized staff to issue requests for
qualifications for consultant assistance in developing and implementing the public
process associated with the land use plan update; and
WHEREAS, qualifications were received and two consultant firms were interviewed; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that Resource Strategies Corporation is the firm best
suited in qualifications and experience to provide the planning services needed for the
public process phase of updating the land use plan for the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the staff is authorized to negotiate a contract
necessary to secure the services of Resource Strategies Corporation for the public process
phase of the land use plan update.
