HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2005-160CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2005-160 RESOLUTION AWARDING BID METROPOLITAN COUNCIL BMP IMPLEMENTATION WHEREAS, The City desires to construct four rain gardens to protect and improve the water quality of Medicine Lake as recommended in the 2000 Water Resources Management Plan; and WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Council awarded the City a grant under a program established to provide financial assistance to reduce, control, and prevent nonpoint sources of pollution to metropolitan area lakes, rivers, and streams; and WHEREAS, bids were received for the construction of four rain gardens as best management practices in the Medicine Lake Watershed, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: COMPANY TOTAL BID SUNRAM CONSTRUCTION, INC. $128,957.28 MAGNUM COMPANY, LLC. $135,318.15 MIKES LAWN AND LANDSCAPE $136,429.75 ENVIRONMENTAL ASSOCIATES, INC. $138,854.98 JAY BROS. INC. $154,984.93 HOFFMAN & McNAMARA CO. $157,359.00 DMJ CORPORATION $174,355.20 LS BLACK INC. $262,214.85 WHEREAS, it appears that SUNRAM CONSTRUCTION, INC. of Corcoran, MN is the lowest responsible bidder, complying with the minimum specifications; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the contract with SUNRAM CONSTRUCTION, INC. of Corcoran, MN in the name of the City of Plymouth for the construction of four rain gardens as best management practices in the Medicine Lake Watershed according to the plans and specifications on file in the office of the City Engineer in the amount of $128,957.28. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. Funding will be from Water Resource Fund - $53,957.28 and from the Metropolitan Council Environmental Partnership Grant - $75,000. Adopted by the City Council on April 26, 2005.
