HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2005-086CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 2005-086 APPROVING SITE PLAN AMENDMENT AND VARIANCE FOR CASCO TO ALLOW EXPANSION OF THE HOME DEPOT GARDEN CENTER, 1705 ANNAPOLIS LANE NORTH (2004145) WHEREAS, CASCO has requested approval of a site plan amendment and setback variance to allow expansion of the Home Depot Garden Center, 1705 Annapolis Lane North; and, WHEREAS, the property is legally described as follows: Lot 1, Block 1, Annapolis Depot Addition, Hennepin County, Minnesota. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called public meeting and recommends approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the site plan and variance to allow expansion of the Home Depot Garden Center located at 1705 Annapolis Lane North, subject to the following conditions: 1. This resolution approves a 3,780 square foot expansion of the Home Depot Garden Center, in accordance with the plans received by the City on February 8, 2005, except as may be amended by this resolution. 2. This resolution approves a setback variance of five feet between the garden center enclosure and the drive aisle, based upon the finding that all applicable variance standards are met. 3. The project must comply with the current Minnesota State Building Code, and the appropriate building permits must be obtained prior to commencement of the project. The expanded garden center enclosure shall match the existing garden center enclosure, using green -coated chain link fencing material supported by brick columns. The front (south) facade of the enclosure shall also include a tightly woven green security mesh directly behind the chain link fencing material to help reduce visibility through the enclosure. Such mesh shall extend from the ground to the top of the enclosure for that expanded area. 5. This approval shall expire one year after the date of approval, unless the property owner or applicant has commenced the use, or unless the landowner or applicant has received prior approval from the City to extend the expiration date for up to one additional year, as regulated under Section 2 103 0. 06 of the Zoning Ordinance.
