RESOLUTION NO. 2005-081
APPROVING REVISIONS TO THE
PLYMOUTH GOOSE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Environmental Quality Committee (EQC) has studied the current practices in
controlling goose population in the City; and
WHEREAS, the EQC recognizes the need to better meet the needs of the City with available budget;
and
WHEREAS, the staff has prepared a program that includes all necessary components, tasks, and
approximate project time line; and
WHEREAS, the EQC has reviewed the program, held public information meeting to seek public input,
and has forward a recommendation to the City Council to approve the program with appropriate
changes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has received and reviewed the EQC recommendations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA:
1. That the attached Plymouth Goose Management Program dated Feb. 2005 is hereby
adopted.
2. City Staff is directed to explore other methods to control the goose population.
3. An ordinance prohibiting the feeding of geese will not be considered, but public
education on the negative impacts of feeding geese will be provided.
