HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2006-381CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2006-381 AWARDING TRANSIT SERVICE CONTRACT FOR OPERATION OF PLYMOUTH METROLINK WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth provides transit services pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 473.388; and WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth receives operating and capital assistance from the Metropolitan Council for transit services; and WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth transit operation includes both state and federal fiinding the established Metropolitan Council for transit procurement process was followed; and WHEREAS, the qualitative evaluations and cost advantages of the proposed contract recommend the Laidlaw Transit Services, Inc. fiill service option; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interests of the City to approve entering into a three year contract term. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. That the City hereby adopts this resolution awarding the transit service operation contract for Plymouth Metrolink to Laidlaw Transit Services, Inc. for a term of three years beginning December 1, 2006 through November 30, 2009, in a total amount not to exceed $10,928,000. 2. That the City Council authorizes the Mayor and City Manager to execute the notice to proceed and enter into the above contract. Adopted by the City Council on September 26, 2006.
