HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2006-285CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 2006-285 APPROVING A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT TO REGUIDE TWO PROPERTIES LOCATED AT 710 COTTONWOOD LANE NORTH AND 800 COTTONWOOD LANE NORTH FROM C (COMMERCIAL) TO LA -1 (LIVING AREA 1) (2006037) WHEREAS, The City of Plymouth, has requested reclassification of the land use guiding for two 0.69 -acre properties located at 710 Cottonwood Land and 800 Cottonwood Lane from C (Commercial) to LA -1 (Living Area 1); and, WHEREAS, the properties affected by the amendment are more specifically described as follows: 710 Cottonwood Lane North is approximately 0.69 acres in size and is bounded by Cottonwood Lane to the west and south, and by 800 cottonwood lane to the north, and by 11255 State Highway 55 to the east. 800 Cottonwood Lane North is approximately 0.69 acres in size and is bounded by Cottonwood Lane to the West, by 710 Cottonwood Lane to the South, and by 11255 State Highway 55 to the north and east. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called Public Hearing and recommends approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the request by The City of Plymouth for reclassification of the land use guiding from C (Commercial) to LA -1 (Living Area 1) for two 0.69 -acre properties located at 710 Cottonwood Lane North and 800 Cottonwood Lane North, based on the following findings: 1. The reguiding of the site would not negatively impact Comprehensive Plan elements, including location criteria, land supply and demand, transportation, water supply, housing and parks. The proposed guiding would be compatible with the existing zoning and use of the properties, which are zoned RSF-I (Single Family Detached 1) and are developed with existing single family homes. 3. The proposed guiding would be compatible with the surrounding single family properties. FURTHER, approval of the land use guide plan amendment is contingent upon, and subject to, the required review and response by the Metropolitan Council. ADOPTED by the City Council on July 25, 2006.
