HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2006-253CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2006-253 RESOLUTION AWARDING BID 9t'` & NIAGARA DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT CITY PROJECT NO. 1004 WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for constriction of the 9th & Niagara Drainage Improvement Project, City Project No. 1004, and all necessary appurtenances, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: COMPANY TOTAL BID Sunram Construction $52,143.36 Minger Constriction, Inc. $61,217.19 Rachel Contracting $74,756.00 DMJ Corporation $77,593.50 Veit and Company, Inc. $88,745.85 GL Contracting, Inc. $92,687.80 Olympic Constriction Services $128,750.00 WHEREAS, it appears that Sunram Constriction, Inc. of Corcoran, MN is the lowest responsible bidder, complying with the minimum specifications; and WHEREAS, The total project cost, including engineering, administration, and based on the low bid is estimated to be $52,143.36, which is $11,932.64 below the Engineer's Estimate of $64,076.00; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the contract with Sunram Constriction, Inc. of Corcoran, MN in the name of the City of Plymouth for the constriction of the 9th & Niagara Drainage Improvement Project according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Engineer in the amount of $52,143.36. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. 3. Funding will be from the Water Resources Fund in the amount of $73,700. Adopted by the City Council on June 27, 2006.
