RESOLUTION No. 2013-159
A RESOLUTION APPROVING INCREASE TO 2013 CIP BUDGET
FOR PLAYGROUND RETROFIT PROJECTS AT
SCHMIDT LAKE PARK AND MISSION HILLS PARK
WHEREAS, the City has an adopted 2013-2017 Capital Improvement Budget; and
WHEREAS, various projects are allocated for the year 2013 in the park section of the Capital
Improvement Budget;
WHEREAS, renovation of the playgrounds at Schmidt Lake Park and Mission Hills Park are
necessary to ensure safe and enjoyable play, and
WHEREAS, the playground retrofit projects are estimated to cost $63,483 for
Schmidt Lake Park and $68,582 for Mission Hills Park or an accumulative estimate of
$132,065 which is $32,065 over budget; and
WHEREAS, the Park Replacement Fund will cover the costs above the programmed
amount; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the Director of Parks and Recreation is hereby
authorized to proceed with the projects as outlined in the staff report utilizing Park Replacement
funds for the playground renovation projects.
