A RESOLUTION APPROVING HENNEPIN COUNTY
CONSTRUCTION COST SHARING AGREEMENT FOR TRAILS ALONG CSAH 6 AND CSAH 61
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has requested County participation in the cost of
constriction of a trail along CSAH 6 and CSAH 61 through the Hennepin County Capital
Improvement Plan - Bikeway Program Discretionary (Bicycle Gap Program) ; and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County capital funds are designated for projects that eliminate
gaps in the Hennepin County Transportation System Plan; and
WHEREAS, the County has awarded grant funding from the Bikeway Program
Discretionary (Bicycle Gap Program) to the City of Plymouth for new trails; and
WHEREAS, the new trail will be off road trails along CSAH 6 between CSAH
61(Xenium Lane) and Fernbrook Lane, and along CSAH 61 between Highway 55 and Water
Tower Circle; and
WHEREAS, the City or its agents will prepare preliminary and final plans and specifications for
constriction of the trails; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the trail constriction is $366,000 and will be constricted in
2014 using Park Dedication Funds; and
WHEREAS, upon completion of the project in 2014, the City shall notify the County and submit
an invoice for reimbursement of $100,000, reducing the overall project costs to $266,000; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the City Council hereby approves the Hennepin County
Constriction Cost Sharing Agreement and authorizes the Mayor and City Manager to sign the
Agreement on behalf of the City of Plymouth.
