RESOLUTION No. 201-156
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A
ELECTRIC -ICE RESURFACE MACHINE
WHEREAS, Staff is recommending a change in 2013-2017 Capital Improvement
Program from refurbishing the Zamboni to replacement of the Zamboni; and
WHEREAS, the City a member of National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) since
2005, may make purchases through their contract, and
WHEREAS, Zamboni Company, Inc. has a contract with NJPA for an Electric
Zamboni 552 Ice Resurfacing Machine meeting the City's specifications, Contract
4022113-FZC; and
WHEREAS, the resale value of the existing 16 year old electric ice -resurfacing
machine is $27,500.00-$30,000; and
WHEREAS, Zamboni Company, Inc. will furnish one new current model 552
electric ice resurfacing machine to the Plymouth Ice Center for $122,464.50 including
shipping.
WHEREAS, the net cost of the new electric ice -resurfacing machine after the
resale of the existing Zamboni is $94,964.50.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, to purchase one electric -ice resurfacing
machine with Plymouth Ice Center Funds; from Zamboni Company, Inc. utilizing the
NJPA Contract for a total purchase price of $122,464.50 (not including sales tax).
