HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2007-423CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2007-423 RECEIVING PRELIMINARY REPORT, ORDERING IMPROVEMENT AND PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND DESIGNATING ENGINEER FOR WELL NO. 16ZACHARY WELL FIELD CITY PROJECT NO. 7114 WHEREAS, the City wishes to proceed with constriction of Well No. 16, pumphouse and raw watermain in 2008 as designated in the Capital Improvements Program (CIP); and WHEREAS, as an additional alternative, if the rehabilitation of the Four Seasons Well is determined to be feasible and cost effective, additional capacity could be achieved; and WHEREAS, Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Assoc. Inc. has completed an investigation and has prepared a report that indicates the proposed Well No. 16 site is suitable for a municipal well; and WHEREAS, Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Assoc. Inc. has also concluded that additional investigation at the Four Seasons Well is warranted; and WHEREAS, plans and specifications need to be prepared in order to proceed; and WHEREAS, a Request for Proposals was sent to three qualified engineering firms that have expertise in water supply and distribution and wastewater planning; and WHEREAS, three Request for Proposals were received and evaluated by City staff, and WHEREAS, staff recommends that Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Assoc. Inc. be designated as the consulting engineer for this project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That 1. Receiving report and hereby ordering plans and specifications for Well No. 16, pumphouse and raw water line and, if appropriate, Four Seasons Well Rehabilitation and raw water line. 2. Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Assoc. Inc. is designated as the City's consulting engineer. FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED: That fiinding in the amount of $1,750,000 is provided from the Utility Trunk Fund.
