RESOLUTION NO. 2007-286
APPROVING COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH
MINNEHAHA CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT
MOONEY LAKE EMERGENCY OUTLET INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT
CITY PROJECT NO. 7111
WHEREAS, a Cooperative Agreement has been prepared by the Minnehaha Creek
Watershed District with reference to the installation of a permanent emergency outlet for
Mooney Lake; and
WHEREAS, Mooney Lake has no natural outlet and this new outlet is needed to protect
existing area homes from potential lake flooding; and
WHEREAS, the existing condition now requires extensive use of staff time and material
expenses to have emergency over -the -ground pumping plans in place; and
WHEREAS, the proposed improvement includes constriction of an outlet stricture at the
southeast corner of the lake, installation of approximately 1,100 lineal feet of
underground pipe, with connection to the City Storm Sewer System as identified in a
preliminary report prepared by Wenck Engineering, dated June 2003; and
WHEREAS, said agreement was approved by the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District
on June 7, 2007;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA:
1. The Council hereby approves the Cooperative Agreement as presented and
authorizes the Mayor and City Manager to execute the Agreement on behalf
of the City.
