HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2007-029CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 2007-029 AMENDING POLICY RELATING TO A YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL, ITS MEMBERSHIP, OFFICERS, MEETINGS, AND DUTIES BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Policy Relating to a Youth Advisory Council is amended as follows: Policy Relating to a Youth Advisory Council, Its Membership, Officers, Meetings, and Duties 1. A Youth Advisory Council is hereby created. 2. Members may be re -appointed. 3. The Youth Advisory Council shall select its own chair and vice -chair. 4. The Youth Advisory Council shall make recommendations as it deems necessary on any City Council agenda items or other matters affecting youth in the community. It shall also seek and recommend ways to improve communications with students in area schools, consider a recognition program for youth in the community, and consider recommendations for how to interest and involve youth in local government. The Youth Advisory Council shall monitor other City boards and commissions for issues relating to youth and make recommendations as it deems appropriate. 5. The City Council shall designate a Council Coordinating Representative each year to be a liaison with the Youth Advisory Council. 6. The City Manager or his designated representative shall provide staff support for the Youth Advisory Council. Adopted by the Plymouth City Council on January 9, 2007.
